Valentine's Day Is More Than Just Romance
One month down, and eleven more to go; 2018 is off to swing. We had snow, rain, cold weather, and warm. It felt like spring and winter all rolled in one. January was a month packed full with adventure, good times, and good people. And, it was full of new endeavors; but, let's fill February with love.
Valentine's day is just around the corner, which means sharing the love. Typically, we see Valentine's day as a day to celebrate as a couple. This leaves so many people feeling left out. Love is not just between two people in a relationship. There is much more love to be celebrated on Valentine's day.
Celebrate with your family this year. Family is always there for you, and will love you through it all. Show them that on this day of love they are important to you, and you love them. Spend time with your family. Make sure they see that you know you are loved, and don't let them forget they are loved.
Have fun with your friends this year. Your friends are the people who know you the best, and they would love to know that you love them just as much as they love you. It is so easy to get caught up in all the expectations for the holiday. But calling or texting your friends to let him/her know you thought of them goes a long way.
Try to find a new way to show love this Valentine's day. Donate to a charity, or volunteer. You can even go to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital website and give a gift to a child on Valentine's day. You get to pick between the gift of a bear, cupcake, or book. Each gift is free, delivered with a card so the recipient can know your name. There are many more ways to give a gift this year. All it takes is a few minutes to search a local hospital and see if they offer a similar opportunity.
Take a few minutes this holiday to share love with those who may not see it everyday. Remember selfless love the best there is. Everyday God shows us his selfless love. Let's take this one day to do the same. Carry your love with you everyday, and share it as much and as often as you can.
